Keiki Academy U4-U7

Keiki Academy Registration

ALBION SC Hawaii's Keiki Academy program is a unique opportunity to introduce your 4, 5, 6, and 7 year old to the beautiful game of soccer. The curriculum designed by Brent Nunes, ALBION Technical Director, and Mike Adrian, Keiki Academy Director for ALBION SC Hawaii, is a fun-filled introduction to soccer. Children are encouraged to develop their mental, physical, and social abilities through creative soccer games, agility drills, and guided scrimmages.

Each Keiki Academy player will learn the skills (ball control, dribbling, turning, passing, receiving, and shooting). ALBION Keiki Academy's 6-week sessions include two sessions per week, where we provide professional instruction for the youngest player to begin learning individual skills and teamwork. ALBION's directors designed this program to prepare your child for the ALBION SC Hawaii's Juniors Program, which allows the kids to follow the ALBION SC Hawaii player pathway.

By the time players graduate from our Keiki Academy program, they should:

  • SOCIAL: Grasp essential life lessons such as respecting their teammates and coaches, the significance of listening during instruction, and the importance of teamwork.
  • PHYSICAL: Develop motor skills, balance, flexibility, and agility.
  • PSYCHOLOGICAL: Be motivated and inspired by soccer through this encouraging and fun environment.
  • TECHNICAL: Understand the fundamental rules of the sport - to not use their hands, understand the boundaries of the field, to become familiar with the direction of play.

Player Expectations: Players are provided an ALBION HAWAII training kit with a paid registration. We expect players to wear their Keiki Academy training kit, with soccer cleats, socks, and shin guards. We also ask that each player bring a size 3 soccer ball (If you need to purchase a ball or additional gear, the Albion team store sells certain items for players).

Parent Expectations: In the Keiki Academy program, parent involvement is sometimes crucial for developing a long-lasting love for soccer. If your child struggles to participate in a game or activity, we encourage you to step in and help out. We also hope that you communicate any concerns or issues that you have with our program. We strive to ensure that all of our members have a positive experience.

Coach Expectations: The ALBION SC Hawaii staff will ensure that coaches will receive a coaching plan before each session and that fields are correctly set before the beginning of training.

Becoming a coach is a rewarding process, and we encourage anyone interested in coaching to contact our Technical Director, Brent Nunes at
